IRS Identity Protection PIN Information
Anyone with a social security number (SSN) or Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN) can request an Identity Protection PIN from the IRS to protect themselves from tax-related identity theft. You will receive a new six-digit PIN each year, which will be required to submit your tax return electronically.
Would you like to access your tax information directly from the IRS?
The IRS has made it easier for taxpayers to access their account information on the IRS website. You can check your payment history, make payments, check the status of your tax return, among other actions. Check out this short IRS YouTube video to learn how.
